Fuengirola Adventure Golf sits in the river park conveniently close to Miramar shopping centre and several of the bigger holiday resorts, and parking is usually easy to find even on busy days — and if the nearby spaces are full, you can simply park at Miramar and walk over the footbridge in a couple of minutes.
The place feels friendly and warm from the moment you walk in. The cafe is on your right as you enter, with plenty of tables — we have never struggled to find one — and food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
The golf is reasonably priced too: a family of four can play for €30, with clubs and balls included — individually it is €10.50 per adult and €8 per child — and there are discounts for bigger groups (over six people play for €9 each), which makes it a genuine option for kids' parties. A round takes between one and two hours depending on how busy it is and the size of your group, and there is no time limit, so you can take it easy. One thing to know: the golf kiosk is cash only.
A lot of big trees have been planted around the course and they give plenty of shaded areas, but it can still be hot on summer afternoons — if you are bringing kids, hats and sunglasses are recommended, and slap on some sun cream too.
The holes themselves are fun and have clearly been given some thought, with numbered, named holes and a lot of water built in — fountains, streams and mini bridges, with the water always running. Some holes are challenging, but mainly in a fun way, which comes back to how well planned and built the course is.
The layout is split across two sections of a leafy avenue walkway: the first nine holes are on the left as you walk in, and the back nine on the right, finishing up at the cafe.
The 18th hole is the most fun of all — a miniature castle with doors on both sides that you must play right through to complete your round. It is easily the favourite for kids and adults alike, and it deposits you neatly at the cafe to round off the session.
All in all, this is a fun way to pass a couple of hours: low effort, close by, reasonably priced and with very friendly staff. We rate it highly.
